Everyone:
Thanks to all who supported the Friends Fall Raffle. The money raised will help pay for programs and services for all to enjoy.
Library fundraising has never been more important than with today's challenging economic situation.
However, we insist on being optimistic about the upcoming year, and we know this community is with us through good times and bad. If you find yourself wondering how you can help us keep the library moving forward, I would invite you to join The Friends of the Tipp City Public Library.
If you want to learn more about this important organization, go back to our website. Pick up the link to the Friend's page, then the link to their pamphlet. Or, you could attend a Friend's meeting. Friends meet on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. Their meetings are posted on the calendar page at our website.
Join us, and we'll make 2009 our best year yet.
Happy holidays,
Janet Shoup

Library Web site
Web site visitors:
Well, well, well. So much for the maroon and brown look I wanted to use
Once I published to the web, those colors became purpley/pink and gray on the majority of monitors I viewed.
I've made some adjustments, and I hope they are agreeable to our web site users and their monitors.
Sorry if that first color scheme sent any of our visitors screaming into the night.

Hello:
I hope you like the look and content of our new website. I chose this color scheme after spending some time working with the vibrant greens and soft blues on a white background, which has become quite prevalent on the Internet.
I was making some progress. Then our Trustees approved a new logo for the library. It would get prominent display on our website, and it has a color scheme of maroon, white and brown. I realized pretty quickly that I was going to have to make some adjustments. Fortunately, I wasn't married to any look at that point.
I started working with the logo’s colors and loved the rich, velvety look they convey.
Feedback from the boss was very positive, so I went with it.
Beyond wanting a new look that complimented our logo, I wanted to add lots more information, yet keep it simple and logical to navigate. I hope you find everything you are accustomed to using when you visit us online, and that you take the time to try some of the new links.
I have also added video to the front page, mainly just for the fun of it, but also to promote events. We have been working with KIT-TV (channel 5) for the past few years, sharing some of our video, and it seemed like a natural progression. Besides, the boss (Director, Mark Mabelitini) likes all things new, techy, or shiny. We’re planning to give him his own show on KIT in the fall. Watch for that.
And, watch for more website additions in the near future. Mark and I are looking at ways our patrons can do as much of their library business online as they choose.
